The Emperor is without doubt the most beautiful accomplishment of Montecristo. It's rich and very present aromas are at first matte, then earthy, then increasingly concentrated and finally become almost intoxicatingly overpowering in the final phase. These open on tangy, expansive notes that do not appear in the earlier stages, but become very pronounced later. Although it is a cigar for special occasions, the 'A' is a difficult and complex cigar to smoke and only an experienced palate will truly get the best this cigar has to offer.

One of the Seven Wonders of Habanos.

Many old connoisseurs are a little bit disappointed with the herbal flat taste of the first third, but this is merely the 'ouverture'. At the beginning of the second third, we find cedar notes and hints of spiciness. Suddenly, the smoke becomes dry and hot.

The draw becomes more difficult and the final is challenging. You will need a rest ofter this marathon.
