As this vitola is difficult to roll, only the best maestros get to handle this conic shape and only the best of the best leaf selection is distributed to them in order to hand-roll perfect Piramides. Therefore, Aficionados recognize the quality and consistency of these Cuban cigars to be of a higher end than other, more standard, vitolas.
A cigar that smokers enjoy and keep it a secret. Smaller production, means that the Diplomaticos No.2's are consistent in construction and flavor. Whilst the new smoker will always opt for the more famous Montecristo No.2, the more experienced palate will find delicate melanges of aroma and a tri-phase development in the Diplomaticos No.2 of far superior complexity. It's mild manner is misleading, as the character is found in its subtlety.
For many years the Diplomaticos No.2 was one of the most wanted Piramides in the world. It's a very well made medium to full-bodied cigar. Rustic.
This Torpedo develops significantly with time, developing a complex blend in a multi-phase smoke. Harsh for the first couple of years, this cigar softens and delivers a wonderfully sophisticated bouquet.
Given time, this is one of the finest Torpedos produced in Cuba. Ideal to taste with a single malt.
By far the most popular of the H.Upmann cigars, the No.2 ranks up there with the Montecristo No.2. The flavors are very recognizable as H.Upmann, but the conic shape of this cigar gives a smoke that is unique in this brand. Very clean tastes (no harshness) and medium body give for a perfectly round smoke. A cigar that will become even more popular with time.
Lovely golden brown wrapper and perfectly constructed. You know you are in for a treat.
Excellent combination of a rustic taste with leather and pepper notes. It gives a rich, spicy and heady smoke.
Like all big Cuban cigars, the finish can be quite strong, but always manageable for the experienced palate.
This is a cigar that you either love or hate. That said, it is arguably the most recognizable Cuban cigar in production today. It's rich and intense taste gives it incomparable style, as its powerful last third covers the palate with spicy and creamy aromas that stay long after the cigars has been laid down. The punchy Montecristo flavors are delivered in an intensive and ever growing manner, giving the Montecristo No.2 true power in a progressive smoke, thus defining it as one of the great Cuban cigars of character.
A great classic. If you have already tasted it, you don't need our tasting notes to confirm that you have smoked one of the greatest Havanas. If you have not tasted it yet, what are you waiting for?
It has a powerful and a very rich smoke. It's made in many factories around Cuba to satisfy a huge demand.
Aficionados of this shape have renewed their patronage to this legendary cigar.
The P No.2 was launched in 2005. Since then, this Torpedo has quickly become very popular. The pointed shape greatly contributes to the full bodiness of the cigar, as the rich flavors are intensified into one point of passage. The familiar Partagas peppery flavors are present but dominated by the power of the tobacco. This cigar is especially suited to smoking outdoors.
The pyramid size is highly demanded and appreciated, allows smokers to taste all the nuances in Partagas special blend. This brand stands out for its unique flavor and character, its high quality standards at every stage and a brand image that happily combines tradition, modernity and class thus building up a trend for years to come.
It's a great cigar but don't ever compare it with the Partagas Piramide Limitada 2000!
The new Regional Edition 2011 for Pacific Asia, released in 2400 numbered boxes containing 25 cigars. Unlike the standard Punch woody blend, the Sabrosos offers a far richer blend with notes of honey, leather and spice. It is medium/full bodied, which would indicate that this cigar will get better with age.
In late 2014, Habanos developed the Habanos Añejados (Aged Habanos) series. The cigars in this series are aged in their boxes for five to eight years before release. The boxes are stamped with the original roll date, along with a Revisado stamp to indicate that the cigars have been inspected. These new series cigars carry a second special Habanos Añejados band in addition to their regular brand one. The cigars in this series are made up of unique and discontinued vitolas in global brands. These Romeo y Julieta Piramides Añejados, the first of the series, were originally rolled in 2008.
Lovely looking cigars with a smell of aged tobacco. The second band indicates that you are smoking a special Cuban cigar.
As with any aged cigars, the blend has settled and the flavor is more subtle (for those of you used to young cigars, you may find these too mild). We get the floral, woody RyJ aromas we all search for in a cigar, because the cigars is at its peak, as the blend master intended.
As with all good things, the RyJ Piramides Añejados production is limited. If you want to experience an aged Cuban without the hassle of going through the aging process, here is your chance.
Perhaps the most balanced of the Vegas Robaina cigars, the Unicos allows the flavors of pepper, wood and chocolate to develop in tandem with the gradual build in power, giving it an impression of being a lighter smoke. The shape of this Torpedo means that the finish will be strong, but not overpowering. This is definitely a cigar for a palate that has been tested as it is a challenge. Perfect cigar for a post dinner smoke, where the Unicos will bring life to your red wine or spirits. Enormous aging potential..
A great Torpedo cigar which improves with age.
Made to rival the Montecristo 2, it delivers a rich and aromatic taste with a good strength.
This is on of the Regional Edition 2010 for Pacific Asia, produced in 4000 numbered boxes containing 25 cigars each. A Juan Lopez in Torpedo shape is a novelty in itself, but what makes this cigar a little different is the freshness of the smoke. Medium in body, it is the grassy aromas that give this cigar its 'chilled' feeling. A great smoke to be tried by anyone who calls themselves an aficionado.
