April 1999: Habanos began producing cigars with new box codes. Our members have already tasted some Montecristo N° 2 with box code EAT CCUN.

These new codes are based on NETAGIDOCU relpacing NIVELACUSO.
the corresponding numbers are:

The codes for the main factories are:
EGD for Carlos Balino ( El Rey Del Mundo)
EDC for Briones Montoto (Romeo Y Julieta)
EUN for El Laguito (Cohiba)
EAT for Fernandez Perez German (Partagas)
EOG for Miguel Fernandez Roig (La Corona)
ENI for Heroes de Moncada
ECA for José Marti (H. Upmann)
EEO for Juan Cano Sainz (Por Larranaga)


Example: EAT CCUN stands for FPG 99/01

These codes are not definitive. They will be changed every one or two months. Till the new adhesive seal is used. The image of the seal is shown on the top of this page. In the center of the seal there will be a hidden logo seen only under UV light. It's another shield image as the one on the left of the Republica de Cuba seal. This image will change from time to time later. On the bottom center you can see a blank space where a serial N° will be written. This Number will be used to identify each and every box of cigars.

FEB 2000: Habanos have lanched the new codes beginning in February 2000. These codes are the simpliest ever. The date is clearely shown as FEB00 for February 2000 on the bottom of the box. No need to use NIVELACUSO or any other codification !!
