COC- You are now visiting many countries to celebrate the launching of the new brands. Can you tell us when you will be in Mexico or in Canada because many US residents want to join these special events?

Mr. Linares: There are no special events concerning Havana cigars in Mexico or Canada in the near future, but all the Americans interested may contact us and we will give them the schedule of all the important celebrations.

COC- If the Americans organize a cigar night in Mexico, and if they invite you, would you join them?

Mr. Linares: Of course, but for the moment I invite them to join us for the most important event concerning Havana cigars in this century: Festival Del Habano, “Habanos salute the coming of the new millennium,” from Feb 22 to Feb 26, 1999, at La Havana. Tickets are available at all Casa Del Habano and at cigars-of-cuba.com (smile)!

COC- What do you think about the cigar on the Internet ?

Mr. Linares: The Internet is the most important mode of communication, and it’s a revolution in the world of international business. For the moment, Habanos has not looked to use it for commercial purposes because we have exclusive distributors around the world.

COC- Our last question…

Mr. Linares: Ask, ask.

COC- Do you anticipate launching any new brands or shapes?

Mr. Linares: 2 brands and three new shapes.

COC- We know that the three new shapes are Cohiba Piramides, Cuaba Distinguidos, Montecristo Robustos, and that one of the new brands is San Cristobal de La Havana, what is the second new brand ?

Mr. Linares: We have many names but we have not decided yet.

COC- How does San Cristobal compare to the other Cuban brands ?

Mr. Linares: It’s close to Fonseca.
